This mural represents connection. My time at Southwestern has been filled with exploring connection to self, others, spirit, and nature. My group chose elements of each person’s artistic style to be represented within the mural. The lines and dots in the background were part of my aesthetic and are meant to symbolize intuition and connection to spirit. The circles in the center that I painted are sacred geometry but more importantly represent sun, moon, and cosmos. All those symbols join in forming the human eye representing the intersection of human, nature, and spirit. All alive within me. They are important in helping me get through this program and shape who I am as a therapist. There are also symbols representing knowledge with the mystical tree, the golden thread, and the eye. The knowledge surrounds and feeds the connection, they support each other. The knowledge I have gained within this program would not have been as deep if not for the support I have from nature, spirit, and my peers.
